The Lake District Experience

ZEN•ith in the Lake District is a residential leadership experience held at Blencowe Hall, Cumbria.

Participants arrive Monday evening and step out of the pace and pressure of day-to-day leadership.

From Tuesday through Thursday, the work unfolds in a carefully structured rhythm – combining faculty-led sessions, peer dialogue, and protected thinking time.

How the Week Works

This is not a back-to-back programme.

Each day follows a deliberate pattern:

Morning – Structured Leadership Work
Focused sessions exploring leadership, culture, systems, and decision-making – grounded in the 5x5 Model® of Relational Leadership.

Midday – Dialogue & Integration
Small group conversations, coaching, and peer challenge – working directly on real leadership situations.

Afternoon – Space & Application
Time to think, walk, reflect, and apply insights to your own context – supported where needed, but not directed.

Evening – Informal Connection
Shared meals and relaxed conversation – where much of the real insight often lands.

What Actually Happens

Across the experience, participants will:

• Examine how they lead under pressure

• Work through real strategic and organisational challenges

• Test thinking with peers operating at a similar level

• Step back from operational noise to regain perspective

• Build clarity on direction, priorities, and leadership stance

This is not theory or content delivery.

It is leadership work – applied in real time.

Why the Structure Matters

The sequence of the week is deliberate.

It moves from:
→ stepping out of reactivity
→ into deeper awareness and challenge
→ towards clarity and decision
→ and finally into action

Without this progression, insight doesn’t translate.

This is what makes the experience effective – not just interesting.
